UPDATE 08/29/15: The new Ghost album Meliora is THA BOMB - BUY IT!
Welcome to Ton of Metal, kids. Here you will find a heavy music video posted every Saturday, as well as short (sometimes medium-to-long) commentary on the great bands that I have gone through the pain and disappointment of discovering so you don't have to. Also, every fourth Saturday, I'll post a trip down memory lane that I like to call Flashback, as well as the occasional theme month. I do all the work - all you have to do is subscribe at the bottom, or click in every Saturday and CRANK IT!

Ghost!
Nail up your crucifixes, kids - it's Ghost! If you're squeamish about infernal lyrical content and/or 60s-metal influences worn proudly on the sleeves of creepy stage get-ups, then cover your ears when you CRANK IT, 'cause they ain't afraid of that stuff in Sweden!

Himsa
Alright kids, it's Himsa today, the single greatest metalcore band ever to exist, now and for all time, the band that defined the style, the mark against which all other punks who call themselves metalcore are to be measured. Now, different people use the term "metalcore" to refer to different things. I'm gonna tell you what I call metalcore, then you can think what you want. For me, metalcore is (besides the greatest music ever created) anything that is thrash instrumentation with hardcore vocals. There are other great metalcore bands, bands that I love to listen to, at least a couple of which I will post here in the future, and I am thankful for them, since Himsa called it quits after three phenomenal albums while they were still THE BEST EVER. Also, some of you will not get this at first, but I want you to hang in there until about 1:49, when the true genius of Himsa will begin to shine through to you; it is the anthemic, empowering nature of their music that really causes them to stand above the rest. Also, the video's just fun. Here's how it's done - it's Big Timber - CRANK IT!

Sevendust
Ok, kids, it is high time that fans of Killswitch Engage become enlightened, and it happens today; as metal bands with soul singers go, it is time for the world to wake up and realize that Killswitch is but a shadow and that Sevendust has always been the sun. It even kinda says so in the name of the latest record "Black Out the Sun" (or at least, it serves my purpose to say that it does.) It's Faithless, from the latest record - CRANK IT!
